Weston Rowland

Civil Rights Attorney

Weston C. Rowland is a civil rights plaintiffs' attorney based in Santa Monica, California, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Weston's litigation practice centers on holding law enforcement accountable: excessive force and police misconduct claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, First Amendment retaliation claims on behalf of protesters, journalists, and photographers, and claims under California's Bane and Ralph Acts against LAPD, LASD, and other agencies. His cases have included class actions arising from police use of force at protests and California Public Records Act writ proceedings compelling disclosure of law enforcement records, body camera footage, and surveillance data. Beyond litigation, Weston runs a legal clinic serving unhoused clients in Los Angeles, providing infraction defense, ADA accommodation requests, and challenges to anti-homeless enforcement. He believes access to quality legal representation is something everyone deserves — and that the constitutional rights on paper only mean something when someone is willing to enforce them.
